Zoo Field Trip Disrupted as School Bus with 76 on board Crashes in Illinois

WESTCHESTER, IL — An eventful zoo field trip turned chaotic when a school bus collided with another vehicle in Westchester, Illinois. The incident unfolded on Thursday morning along Mannheim Road near Dorchester Street, leading to an immediate response from the Westchester Fire Department.

Thankfully, the collision was minor, and no injuries were reported. However, as a precaution, medical refusals were being processed for all 76 passengers on the bus, including the two occupants of the other vehicle involved in the crash.

Efficient action from the Westchester Fire Department allowed the scene to be cleared by 11:15 a.m., enabling the students to resume their eagerly anticipated trip to the zoo.

As investigations into the accident’s cause continue, authorities are prioritizing safety measures. Residents are reminded to remain cautious on the roads and adhere to traffic regulations, ensuring the prevention of similar incidents.
