Manteno Man Arrested for Aggravated Battery Against Sheriff’s Deputy

Kankakee, IL – A Manteno man faces multiple charges after an altercation with law enforcement officers following a domestic incident.

According to the Kankakee County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred on Sunday at around 5:30 PM. Robert W. Bailey, 41, allegedly became combative during an intervention by officers at a rural Manteno residence. The situation escalated when Bailey reportedly kicked a sheriff’s officer in the chest. 

Bailey has been charged with aggravated battery to a peace officer, among other offenses. He is currently detained at the Jerome Combs Detention Center awaiting a court appearance.
