Wheatfield, IN – A Francesville man was arrested early on January 31st after a tense incident in Wheatfield, Indiana.
According to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to a disturbance at an apartment where Shane M. Howard, 41, was allegedly trying to forcefully enter a residence.  The victim reported Howard was jiggling the doorknob and banging on the door, causing fear and alarm. Upon arrival, deputies found Howard entering a red car nearby. Video evidence from the victim’s door camera reportedly showed Howard making repeated attempts to enter the apartment and allegedly making threatening remarks.
Howard was arrested and charged with attempted residential entry, a Level 6 Felony. A subsequent search revealed a baggie with methamphetamine residue in his wallet and a hypodermic needle in his vehicle.
Howard is currently held at the Jasper County Detention Center, facing multiple felony charges including possession of methamphetamine and unlawful possession of a syringe.
