Memorial Day Fire Engulfs Sun River Terrace Apartment Building, Total Loss Confirmed

MOMENCE, Ill. – A devastating fire erupted on Memorial Day afternoon, tearing through a six-unit apartment building in Sun River Terrace and reducing it to ashes. 

According to Momence Fire Department officials, the destructive blaze, located at 7542 E 2nd St, began just before 2 p.m. While initial findings suggest that the fire started on an outdoor deck, the exact cause is still under investigation. 

Miraculously, no injuries were reported as a result of the inferno. 

An investigation into the blaze remains ongoing.
