Mendota, IL – Tornado Touches Down in La Salle County

Mendota, IL – A confirmed tornado touched down near Mendota in La Salle County, Illinois, prompting urgent warnings from the National Weather Service. 

The tornado, along with potential hail up to two inches in diameter, was reported at approximately 5:53 PM CST, moving eastward at 15 mph. Officials are instructing residents to immediately seek shelter, particularly in a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. The warning remains in effect until 6:45 PM CST. 

Community members are advised to stay away from windows and protect themselves from the possibility of flying debris.
