Merrillville Police Department Offers Self-Defense Seminar for Women March 21st

Merrillville, IN – The Merrillville Police Department is hosting a Women’s Self-Defense Seminar aimed at enhancing personal safety and security. The event is scheduled to take place on Thursday, March 21st, 2024, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Dean and Barbara White Community Center located at 6600 Broadway, Merrillville, IN 46410. 

According to the department’s flyer, the session will cover crime prevention tips, ways to increase awareness of threats, simple yet powerful self-defense moves, and effective escape tactics. This educational seminar is open to women aged 14 and above, with minors under 18 requiring adult accompaniment. The event is limited to the first 50 registrations. Local police officers will lead the class, sharing their expertise and strategies for staying safe. Interested participants are encouraged to register online.
