Miraculous Escape: No Injuries After Fiery Interstate Collision with Deer Near Manteno

MANTENO, IL – A routine Sunday night on I-57 turned dramatic when a car collided with a deer, leaving the vehicle incapacitated on the dark interstate. 

According to Illinois State Police the crash, occurred just after 9:30 pm near Manteno, only escalated when a secondary vehicle crashed into the disabled car, erupting into flames. State Police confirmed that despite the severity of the crash and the fire that ensued, there were no injuries reported. 

The northbound lanes bore witness to a tense closure for approximately an hour as authorities conducted an investigation and cleanup before reopening the roadway.
