Mokena, IL – The Mokena Police Department has issued a public appeal for assistance following an increase in migrant arrivals in the Chicagoland area.

This surge comes after Chicago’s new legislation restricting how Texas-based bus companies transport migrants to their Chicago destination. Many of these migrants are now being dropped off at random locations, particularly near Metra stations. Mokena officials, in coordination with the Will County Emergency Management Agency and other government bodies, are working diligently to facilitate the migrants’ safe passage to their intended Chicago landing zone.

Residents who observe buses offloading migrants in Mokena Village are encouraged to contact the police at their non-emergency number (708) 479-3911. This effort is part of a broader initiative to manage the migrant situation effectively and ensure their safety and well-being.
