Kentucky Animal Clinic Employee Shot, Killed During Altercation

LOUISVILLE, KY – A verbal altercation at the Shively Animal Clinic turned fatal when an employee of the clinic was shot and later died from his injuries. 

According to reports, the Shively Police Department received a call Sunday at 6:25 p.m. about a fight at the clinic which escalated into a physical altercation, resulting in the shooting of the employee, identified as 21-year-old Trent Taylor. Despite Taylor’s attempts to stop the shooter from entering the building, he was fatally wounded.

While the investigation is in its early stages, detectives have indicated the potential for a self-defense claim, and no arrests have been made. The Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office will be consulted regarding any potential prosecution once the investigation is complete.

Detective Sergeant Jordan Brown reports a woman named “Jayme Bond” was NOT associated in any way with the incident and urge members of the community to stop associating this individual with the case. 

The Shively Animal Clinic has yet to released a statement regarding the incident.
