NEWTON COUNTY, IN – Sheriffs Pat Williamson of Jasper County and Shannon Cothran of Newton County express concern over the recent surge in GPS globe thefts from tractors.

The stolen globes, vital components of modern farming equipment, impose a severe financial burden on farmers and disrupt their operations, hampering productivity. Precision agriculture techniques, resource optimization, and increased crop yields are reliant on these globes.

The thefts have become a growing issue, adversely affecting farmers’ livelihoods. The sheriffs emphasize the importance of securing equipment and urge locals to report any suspicious activity.
