Omaha Residents Advised to Prepare for Friday’s Severe Thunderstorms, Tornado Risk

Omaha, NE – Severe thunderstorms are expected to hit the area Friday afternoon and evening, bringing potential 60+ mph winds and tornadoes.

According to the US National Weather Service Omaha/Valley Nebraska, there is a 40-70% chance of thunderstorms, with a 15-55% likelihood of severe storms. The greatest threat window is from 2 PM to 10 PM. Residents are advised to stay weather-aware and have multiple ways to receive warnings. Saturday night may also see smaller storm chances, while the rest of the week is expected to be mostly sunny with highs in the mid-70s to mid-80s.
