LAKE COUNTY – Following the heart-wrenching terrorist attack on Israel, which claimed over a thousand innocent lives, there’s a palpable unease in the United States, particularly in Lake County.
Sheriff John D. Idleburg spoke out vehemently against the tragedy and offered solace to concerned citizens.
“I want the community to know our recently appointed Director of Homeland Security for the Sheriff’s Office has been working and collaborating with Lake County Police Chiefs and municipal leaders, to ensure all of our law enforcement resources are working together to prevent violence before it occurs,” Sheriff Idleburg said in a statement Monday afternoon. “He is in frequent communication with our federal partners to learn the latest intelligence, which is disseminated to law enforcement countywide, and acted upon.”
Idleburg emphasized no credible threats have been identified in Lake County, however vigilant deputies will be increasing patrols, especially around schools and houses of worship. He urges the community to remain watchful and report suspicious activities.
