Over 2k new COVID-19 cases, record high in Illinois

Illinois Department of Public Health officials announced over 2,000 new cases of COVID-19 today, the single highest one day count in the State of Illinois.

A total of 2,049 new cases were announced on Wednesday by IDPH officials, announcing 98 new deaths.  That brings State totals to over 35,000 infected to date and over 1,500 dead.

IDPH announced there are currently 4,465 people hospitalized for the virus with over 1,200 in the ICU.  There are currently 747 people on ventilators in the State.
