Peoria, IL – Man Shot by Unknown Assailant in Early Morning Home Invasion

Peoria, IL – A distressing home invasion occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, March 6, 2024, when an unidentified individual forcibly entered a residence on the 1300 block of N. Broadway in Peoria, resulting in a shooting. 

Police officers, responding to the scene around 1:23 a.m., found an adult male victim inside the home, suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim recounted the harrowing moment when the perpetrator kicked in his front door and shot him. Police provided immediate life-saving measures before the victim was transported to a hospital with serious injuries.

The Peoria Police Department, including its Criminal Investigations Division, Crime Scene Unit, and Patrol Unit, has launched a comprehensive investigation into the incident. As of now, there is no information available on the suspect.
