St. Anne, IL – The roar of engines and the spirit of giving fuel St. Anne’s Cruise Night, as classic car aficionados and families gather every second Thursday beginning in April through September.Â
Hosted by Zach and Nicole DuFrain, this community event marries a love for vintage automobiles with philanthropy, where every revving engine contributes to a local cause. The DuFrains, known for their involvement in local car shows and drag racing, have successfully turned a skeptical town hall proposition into a thriving community highlight, drawing over 100 cars in its initial outings last year.
The Cruise Night isn’t just about polished chrome and gleaming paint; it also aims to foster the next generation’s interest in automotive hobbies. In partnership with sponsors, the DuFrains have set up a 50/50 raffle, with past proceeds supporting various local needs, from medical bills for a Martinton resident to supplies for the Pumpkin Festival. This year, Project Headspace and Timing, an organization assisting veterans, will benefit from May’s raffle at the Hero’s Hot Rods and Hogs show.
The event also features themed nights, food specials from local eateries, and new this year, and a secret raffle or two planned this upcoming season. As St. Anne evolves, so does the Cruise Night, with a vision of staying true to its roots while expanding its reach and impact on the community.
