Rensselaer, IN – A local man faces multiple charges after allegedly violating a protective order.

According to Rensselaer Police reports the arrested 30-year-old Christopher Haynes on April 10 originated after he was reportedly seen outside a woman’s apartment on Kannal Street, despite previous charges of intimidation, invasion of privacy, and harassment against the same victim in 2023.

Haynes is now facing additional felony charges including invasion of privacy and stalking.

According to police, after his arrest and subsequent jailing, Haynes allegedly continued attempts to contact the victim by instructing friends to create social media profiles to reach out to her. These actions led to further charges of invasion of privacy and misdemeanor harassment.

Haynes remains in custody, facing three level six felony charges and a misdemeanor, as investigations continue. He is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
