Palos Hills, IL – A debit card skimming device was found at a Bank of America ATM in Palos Hills, prompting local authorities to issue a public safety alert. The device was discovered at the drive-thru ATM located at 10260 S. Roberts Road.

The Palos Hills Police Department advises anyone who recently used this ATM to contact their bank and monitor their accounts for unusual activity.

According to the police, card skimming is a growing concern and consumers should be vigilant when using ATMs and point-of-sale machines. They recommend inspecting these devices for any signs of tampering or unusual features, and prefer using machines in secure, well-lit locations. Additional safety tips include using ATMs in low-risk areas and opting for cards with chip technology, which offers better security against skimming devices.
