Manhattan, IL – The annual Round Barn Heritage Fest is set for this Saturday, June 8, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Round Barn Farm in Will County.
The Manhattan Park District has prepared a packed schedule of activities to celebrate the start of summer. Festivities will begin with hayrack rides and vintage carnival games sponsored by Fellers State Farm, running throughout the event. A craft fair, hosted by the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce, will feature local artisans.
From 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., attendees can visit displays by the Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie and the Illinois Bee Rescue Beekeepers, among others. At 1:30 p.m., the Round Barn Rumble Fun Run, sponsored by Manhattan Family Chiropractic, will take place. A blacksmith demonstration is scheduled for 1:45 p.m., followed by a magic show at 2:30 p.m., sponsored by State Representative Anthony DeLuca.
Family activities include face painting, caricatures, and a petting zoo. At 3:30 p.m., the Family Field Day, sponsored by First Bank of Manhattan, will offer games for all ages. The festival concludes with a pie-eating contest at 4:15 p.m.
Food and drinks will be available from Lil’ Deb’s Mobile Eats and Nothing Bundt Cakes, with bar service provided as well. This free event promises a day of fun for the whole family.
