Custer Park, IL – Early Sunday morning, commuters on Route 113, approximately one mile east of Irish Lane in Custer Park, encountered an unexpected obstacle. Power lines, brought down by unspecified causes, now lie across the roadway, prompting immediate action from local emergency services.

The Braidwood Fire Department (BFD) was quick to the scene, securing the area to prevent any accidents. In response to the incident, Commonwealth Edison (ComEd), the region’s power supplier, has been contacted and is actively working to rectify the situation.

Motorists are strongly advised to avoid the area or proceed with extreme caution. Local authorities have set up temporary diversions to manage traffic flow and reduce congestion around the affected site. As repair efforts are underway, drivers should anticipate minor delays and consider alternative routes.
