Ottawa, IL – Residents in LaSalle County are being targeted by scammers impersonating local law enforcement officials, including Lt. John Dyke and other deputies.

The scammers use the sheriff’s office phone number to deceive victims, claiming they have active warrants or need to verify signatures on court documents. The LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office warns that they never solicit payments for warrants or court papers over the phone. Citizens are advised to contact the sheriff’s office directly if they receive any suspicious calls.
