Schaumburg, IL – Village of Schaumburg Cook County crews have initiated the installation of temporary wooden poles for string signal lights along Schaumburg Road, spanning from Barrington to Martingale roads. This move marks the commencement of a significant project aimed at overhauling the area’s traffic signal system.

According to Cook County officials, the plan involves dismantling the existing traffic signals and installing advanced replacements, coupled with a state-of-the-art traffic management system. The project’s scope extends to enhancements like ADA-compliant ramps, median refurbishments, and pavement improvements.

Motorists and pedestrians are being urged to exercise caution while navigating the affected stretches of Schaumburg Road, as the ongoing work may lead to intermittent lane and sidewalk closures.

For comprehensive details and updates on the project, the public is encouraged to visit the official Cook County website.
