School Bus wreck in Kankakee, injuries reported

KANKAKEE – A school bus was the victim of an accident this afternoon in Kankakee.

Reports say it happened around 4 p.m. at an intersection near Hawkins and 4th Street when a car allegedly rear-ended the bus, which caused one of the vehicles to start leaking gas.  Paramedics were on had following the wreck and transported patients to nearby hospital.  

No word yet on how many were injured, but it has been confirmed by a school official at least one student was sent to the hospital following the crash.
