KENTLAND, Ind. – A startling collision occurred between two school buses near South Newton campus on CR 50 E at CR 1300S, Wednesday afternoon.

Reports from the Newton County Sheriff’s Office detail that an eastbound mini bus did not yield, leading to the crash with a northbound school bus around 3:06PM.

A quick response from South Newton School Corp ensured all students were accounted for. Students on the northbound bus remained unhurt, while those on the mini bus underwent a medical check before being released to their parents. The mini bus driver, however, was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.

Multiple agencies, including Kentland Police and Indiana State Police, joined forces to manage the situation.
