Sheriff Seeks Public Help in Horse Shooting Incident

Williamson County, IL – A horse was found with a gunshot wound in Williamson County, prompting a call for public assistance from the local sheriff’s office. The incident, which left the community shaken, occurred on January 31, 2024, in the rural area of Cambria.

According to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched at 1406 hours to the 14000 block of Laminack Road after the animal’s owner discovered it injured. The shooting is believed to have taken place between 8am and 2pm, with a higher likelihood in the afternoon. Sheriff Jeff Diederich emphasized the need for public cooperation in resolving this alarming case.
