South of I-70 in Central Indiana: Residents Prepare for Heavy Rainfall and Potential Flooding

Indianapolis, IN – Communities just south of Interstate 70 in Central Indiana are preparing for a wet and stormy period ahead. The National Weather Service forecasts showers and isolated thunderstorms to develop in the area later today and continue into the night. 

Starting Wednesday afternoon, the weather will escalate to more widespread rain with scattered thunderstorms, capable of producing heavy rainfall through Thursday night. An accumulation of 1 to 3 inches of rain is anticipated by Friday morning, increasing the risk of river flooding as the week progresses.
