Springfield, IL – Governor J.B. Pritzker Proclaims Illinois Engineering Week

Springfield, IL – Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker has declared February 18-24, 2024, as Illinois Engineering Week, according to a state proclamation. 

The initiative coincides with the national celebration of engineers and this year’s theme, “Welcome to the Future,” which highlights the forward-looking innovations and diversity in the engineering field. 

The proclamation underscores the commitment of engineers to safety, infrastructure, and the advancement of transportation networks. It also recognizes the significant investments in state infrastructure, crediting engineers for their role in improving over 5,000 miles of highway and hundreds of additional projects. 

The week-long observance encourages public recognition of engineers’ contributions and student engagement in engineering careers.
