Joliet, IL – A teen was allegedly stabbed in a confrontation outside a Joliet laundromat on Saturday, leading to a swift arrest by local police.

According to police reports the incident occurred around 12:46 p.m. at the Route 30 Laundromat, located at 905 Plainfield Road. Officers arrived to find Oscar Nicolas Alonso Ortiz, 26, from Joliet, allegedly in possession of a knife at the scene. Ortiz reportedly dropped the knife upon police command and was arrested without further incident.

The 18-year-old victim, who sustained a non-life-threatening chest wound, had already been transported to Ascension St. Joseph-Joliet hospital by the time authorities arrived.
