CHICAGO – D.C. National Guard has been activated as a large number of the National Guard members from Maryland and Virginia are headed to Washington D.C. after an insurrection erupted Wednesday afternoon.

Members of the riot insurrection hung from the Senate balcony Wednesday as others vandalized Speaker Pelosi’s office, breaking windows as the US Capital was illegally broken into, endangering members of the House of Representatives and US Senate.   Multiple law enforcement officers have been injured on the scene, with at least one woman being reported shot on the scene.

“This is a Coup Attempt.” US House Representative Adam Kinzinger said Wednesday after being evacuated from the building.

Vice President Mike Pence issued a statement this afternoon saying:

“The violence and destruction taking place at the US Capitol Must Stop and it Must Stop Now. Anyone involved must respect Law Enforcement officers and immediately leave the building. Peaceful protest is the right of every American but this attack on our Capitol will not be tolerated and those involved will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
