Tornado Warning Issued for Over 22,000 Residents in Iowa

Iowa City, IA – A tornado warning has been issued for portions of Iowa, affecting nearly 22,677 residents.

According to the US National Weather Service Quad Cities, the warning is in effect until 6:45 a.m. CDT today, encompassing areas such as Keokuk, Iowa, and northwest Washington County. The storm system moving east is expected to bring embedded rotation and significant straight-line winds.

Residents in the affected areas are advised to seek shelter in the lowest level of a sturdy structure. Additionally, hail up to a quarter size is possible. Stay tuned for further updates as the situation develops.
