Two Fatally Shot in Watseka, Man Injured in Daylight Attack

WATSEKA, IL – Watseka Police were thrust into action Thursday, responding swiftly to a distressing call that led them to the 400 Block of W North St. At 12:13 pm, the serene streets of Watseka turned into a grim scene of chaos, leaving a community in shock.

Amidst the unfolding tragedy, witnesses reported a woman and another individual losing their lives due to the senseless violence, while a previously reported young child was later identified as a 21-year-old man, had to be airlifted to a nearby hospital, fighting for survival. The assailant responsible for this heart-wrenching incident is now in police custody, identified as 44-year-old Scott E. Peterson of Kankakee, but questions remain unanswered.

Details on the injured man’s condition are unknown at this time.
