NAPERVILLE, Ill. — A cloud of suspicion hangs over an Illinois man as he faces serious legal repercussions for his alleged involvement in a shocking theft from a local Boy Scout troop.

John R. Miller, 59, residing in Aurora, finds himself in the crosshairs of law enforcement after allegedly unauthorized checks totaling $21,838 were purportedly funneled into his personal bank account from the coffers of Naperville Boy Scout Troop 1776.

The investigation, launched in February 2023, brought to light a series of perplexing transactions that spanned from May 2021 to November 2022.
