Victoria, IL – Last Wednesday, the Knox County Sheriff’s Office received an urgent report of a boating accident on the west side of Green Oaks Lake in Victoria, IL. Two individuals had reportedly fallen into the icy lake waters.
According to the sheriff’s office, their Water Rescue Team was immediately dispatched to the scene. Both individuals were promptly located and safely recovered, unable to reach the shore due to the ice. GHAS evaluated them with no injuries reported.
The sheriff’s office issued a reminder about the necessity of life vests while on the water and extended thanks to the Illinois DNR, GHAS, and local fire and rescue teams for their assistance.
