Warrant Issued for Kankakee Man Involved in Double-Fatal Route 113 Crash

JOLIET, IL – A warrant has been issued for Dale Guttendorf, 21, of Kankakee, following a tragic head-on collision on Route 113 that claimed two lives. 

Guttendorf faces felony reckless homicide charges after his eastbound Toyota sedan crossed into the opposite lane, colliding with a Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck driven by 47-year-old Andy Adams, and his 30-year-old son, Andrew Adams. 

The fiery crash occurred near Braidwood, leaving the Joliet community devastated. Both victims were esteemed members of Local 444 Ironworkers union. The Illinois State Police conducted the investigation, resulting in three charges against Guttendorf including two counts of reckless homicide and one count of improper lane usage.

Guttendorf has not yet been detained at the Will County Jail yet. Will County Judge Dave Carlson has issued an arrest warrant, setting bail at $100,000.
