Will County, IL – Coroner Identifies Body Found in Water at Dam

Joliet, IL – The Will County Coroner’s Office has released the identity of the individual whose body was discovered floating in the Brandon Road Lock and Dam yesterday morning. The deceased has been identified as 37-year-old Dashawn Green, who was pronounced dead shortly before 1:00 p.m. following the recovery efforts by fire department officials from Rockdale, Channahon, and Minooka.

According to official reports, emergency crews were dispatched to the dam Monday morning after a barge worker reported spotting a body in the water. 

Illinois State Police have taken the lead in investigating the circumstances surrounding Green’s death, seeking to uncover how and why this tragic incident occurred. Further details will be provided as the investigation progresses
