Will County, IL – Residents in Will County have been issued a critical warning due to elevated fire danger conditions forecasted for the afternoon.

The National Weather Service Tuesday emphasized that windy, mild, and dry weather could lead to grass and brush fires that may rapidly spread and become difficult to manage. Today’s fire danger level is marked at 3 of 5, indicating significant risk. Officials are advising the community to exercise extreme caution with any outdoor burning activities and the disposal of smoking materials to prevent uncontrolled fires.

Relief may arrive soon, with rain and thunderstorms anticipated to begin tonight and increase in frequency through Thursday night, including a potential for severe storms on Thursday. Residents should remain alert to further weather updates.
