Will County, IL – Residents of Will County and the surrounding areas should prepare for slick travel conditions this evening. 

The National Weather Service in Chicago has forecasted a weather shift from rain to snow starting around 5 PM to 12 AM CST today, with the potential for hazardous driving conditions. According to the alert issued at 5:25 AM on February 23, 2024, snowfall may lead to a coating up to an inch, especially as temperatures fall into the 20s and northerly winds pick up to 30-35 mph.

The greatest threat for slippery conditions is expected on bridges and overpasses. Commuters in far northeast and far northern Illinois, including Will County, are advised to exercise caution.
