Joliet, IL – The Joliet Slammers have started their season with a bang, drawing large crowds over the opening weekend at the Joliet Slammers Stadium. More than 10,000 fans turned up for the first three games against the Evansville Otters, marking a significant success for the team. Notably, the weekend featured appearances by co-owners Mike Veeck and Bill Murray, adding to the festive atmosphere.

On Friday, the game attracted 5,113 spectators, followed by 4,293 on Saturday. Sunday saw a slight dip with 991 fans, likely due to competing events and weather conditions. The Slammers are looking to maintain this momentum as they return home on Tuesday, May 21, for a promising matchup against the Schaumburg Boomers.

Fans are eagerly anticipating the continuation of the season, especially with the promise of engaging themes and promotions at upcoming games. Tickets remain available for the season, with special events like Fireworks Night on May 31st against the Lake Erie Crushers expected to draw large crowds.
