Wilmington, IL – Wilmington High School Addresses Circulation of Student “Hit List”

Wilmington, IL – At approximately 9:25 AM today, Wilmington police responded to Wilmington High School after a concerned parent reported a threatening “hit list” that included names of students. 

The school’s resource officer and administration were swiftly engaged to ensure safety.According to the Wilmington Police Department, discussions were held with the implicated students and their parents. School administration is taking charge of disciplinary actions in line with their protocols. 

While the police continue their investigation to collect and assess all relevant details, they have confirmed there is no ongoing threat to the school community or the wider public.
