Springfield, IL – Man Arrested for Alleged Bomb Threats Against State Facilities

Springfield, IL – Illinois State Police have apprehended 23-year-old Gabrielle Williams on charges linked to several bomb threats against key state facilities, including the Illinois State Capitol.

Arrested on May 9, 2024, Williams allegedly targeted both the Capitol and a public aid office in Springfield last month. This swift action follows the implementation of the State Agency Facility and Employee (SAFE) Threat Protocol designed to rapidly respond to such threats.

Williams is now detained at Sangamon County Jail awaiting a pre-trial detention hearing.
