Madison, WI – Wisconsin is under a significant winter weather advisory as the Department of Transportation reports numerous slippery roads statewide.

According to a recent Facebook update, heavy snowfall and strong winds are expected to cause deteriorating road conditions through Wednesday morning. The central and eastern regions of Wisconsin will likely experience the worst conditions, with visibility reduced by strong winds and blowing snow.

The Department of Transportation advises drivers to drive slowly, maintain extra distance from the vehicle ahead, and use headlights. Snowplows will be operating; the public is reminded to give them ample space and to check 511wi.gov for the latest road conditions.
