Yorkville, IL – The Yorkville Police Department has announced the acquisition of a state-of-the-art police training simulator, the VirTra V-300, to enhance officer training in de-escalation techniques.

According to the official statement on Facebook, the system, funded by a Department of Justice De-Escalation Safety Grant, will be fully operational by the end of the week.

The department extends gratitude to its law enforcement and school district partners, including the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office, Plano Police Department, and Montgomery Police Department, among others, for their support in this initiative. This move represents a significant step forward in preparing officers for various scenarios they may encounter in the field.
