Columbus, OH – A dramatic police chase unfolded in Columbus in the early hours of Monday, ending with a man jumping from a bridge after allegedly driving a stolen Jeep.

The incident began at approximately 3:49 AM when Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies tried to stop the vehicle near Cleveland Avenue and Huy Road. Despite clear directives to halt, the driver, identified as 45-year-old Adam Garber, failed to comply, leading to a pursuit.

The chase ended around 4:06 AM on S. Hamilton Road where Garber abandoned the Jeep and fled on foot, ultimately jumping off a nearby bridge into the water. The Columbus Fire Department’s Water Rescue team was quickly mobilized and located Garber clinging to a tree branch after a tense 30-minute search.

Garber was taken into custody and transported to a hospital in stable condition. He faces charges of felony receiving stolen property and failure to comply. The incident remains under active investigation by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.
