The tornado watch covers a vast area affecting an estimated population of over 17.78 million people, with 5,500 schools and 323 hospitals within the highlighted regions.
The main threat, particularly damaging hail, is expected along and east of the I-57 corridor between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM. Residents are urged to monitor the situation and seek shelter if necessary.
