CHICAGO – The Chicago Bears have made some big moves in free agency, signing two veteran linebackers and an offensive tackle.

The team added reinforcement to their offensive line by reaching a three-year deal with Nate Davis, a guard who started 54 games for the Tennessee Titans over the last four seasons. Davis was a third-round pick of the Titans in the 2019 NFL Draft and his deal with the Bears is worth up to $30 million, with $19.25 million guaranteed.

The Bears also signed linebacker T.J. Edwards to a three-year deal. Edwards was an undrafted free agent out of Wisconsin in 2019 and turned into a full-time starter for the Philadelphia Eagles, leading the team in tackles last season with 159. Edwards, who grew up in the Chicago area, will be a significant addition to the Bears’ linebacking corps.

The biggest signing of the free agency period for the Bears was Tremaine Edmunds, a former Buffalo Bills linebacker. Edmunds agreed to a four-year, $72 million contract with $50 million in guaranteed money. He is a two-time Pro Bowler who collected 102 tackles, one interception, one sack, and seven passes defensed in 2022, capping off a successful five-year stint with the Bills.

With these signings, the Bears hope to improve their defense and offensive line for the upcoming 2023 NFL season. These moves will provide support to the Bears’ starting quarterback, Justin Fields, as he enters his second year in the league.
