New Lenox Fire Protection District Requesting Vehicle Donations for Training

“We are looking for cars, SUVs, trucks or vans,” said NLFPD Training Officer, Lieutenant Brian Applegate. “The donated vehicles really help us out by allowing us to train and refresh our skills when using our extrication tools, as well as practicing new techniques on vehicle stabilization.”

Join the First Bank of Manhattan and First Bank of New Lenox on August 24th for a free Shredding and Food Drive! The event will take place on August 24th at the First Bank of Manhattan and again on September 14th from 9:30am-11:30am. It’s asked you bring a non-perishable food item for donation to local food pantries. All documents will be shredded on site, limit fifteen boxes.

Wreaths Across America Honors New Lenox Fire Protection District Volunteers

Tammy Levey and Skip Minger were both presented plaques from Wreaths Across for America, recognizing their efforts in raising over $27,000 last year for the NLFPD, which allowed them to purchase over 1,800 wreaths placed at Abraham Lincoln Cemetery in Elwood, IL. This was the first time a single donor has been able to raise enough money to provide wreaths to cover an entire section of graves.
