Single Case of Legionnaires’ Disease reported at Manteno Veterans’ Home
MANTENO – This afternoon, the Illinois Department of Veterans’ Affairs (IDVA) learned that a case of Legionnaires’ disease was identified in a resident at the Manteno Veterans’ Home (IVHM) and notified all residents, families, and staff. The resident is being treated and is in stable condition.
Lanes reopening where possible for Labor Day travel

Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation Announces First “Same-Site” Licenses for Adult Use Cannabis
CHICAGO – The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation announced Thursday the first “Same Site” adult use cannabis licenses, which will allow an existing medical cannabis dispensary to obtain an adult use dispensing license. This license will permit the dispensary to begin adult use cannabis sales at that location starting January 1, 2020, provided the dispensary complies with local zoning rules or other local laws.

“For more than 150 consecutive days, historic and unprecedented spring floods and severe storms plagued communities across our state, and first responders did an incredible job protecting life and property,” said Governor JB Pritzker. “However, seven families experienced the ultimate tragedy when their loved ones perished due to this natural disaster. This flood tore children from their homes, severely restricted key transportation lifelines and decimated local economies – and it may take years for some communities to fully recover. I respectfully request the full resources of the federal government be brought to bear in response to this emergency. Our communities deserve every opportunity to rebuild, and be even stronger and more resilient than before.”
