Bellwood Man Arrested after $2.1 Million in Gucci, Louis Vuitton Counterfeit Goods

CHICAGO, Ill. – A man was arrested Friday, April 19th after an investigation discovered over 1,400 counterfeit items.  

The arrest was part of an investigation conducted by Cook County Sheriff’s Police and the Department of Homeland Security.  According to the Cook County Sheriff’s Department, during the search, officials discovered approximately 1,424 items, including bags and shoes marked with counterfeit trademarks of Louis Vuitton, Gucci, and Chanel, with an estimated value of $2.1 million. 

All items were inspected on the scene and confirmed to be counterfeit.

The man, who has not been identified, was taken into custody and charged with manufacturing and selling counterfeit goods, a violation of intellectual property rights.

No further details are known at this time.
