Two-Car Crash in Champaign County Leaves One Dead Sunday night

CHAMPAIGN COUNTY – Illinois State Police are investigating a fatal two-car crash Sunday night that occurred on US Route 150 near 1550 North in Champaign County

According to preliminary investigation reports, it happened at approximately 8:38 p.m. when a 2004 Gray Buick driven by 62-year-old Rebecca Gerald from St. Joseph, IL, crossed the center of the roadway on US Route 150 near 1550 North and struck a 2015 White Hyundai driven by a 15-year-old female from Homer, IL.

Gerald was pronounced dead on the scene.  The teen and her 47-year-old passenger were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The roadway was closed for approximately 6 hours for the crash investigation. No further information is available at this time.
