Kankakee rings in holiday with Depot Light Show, Library Wreath Ceremony

KANKAKEE – We’re just days away from the City of Kankakee ringing in the holiday season.  

Thursday at sundown, the City will light the annual tree and the Kankakee Depot will begin its annual holiday music show at Harold and Jean Miner Festival Square.  Residents can drive through and listen to 97.3FM to follow along with the show.

Next Thursday, December 10th, the City of Kankakee and Library will ring in the holidays by choosing two children under 12 to wreath the Library’s lions, Readmore and Seemore, with Mayor Chasity Wells-Armstrong.  A private photoshoot is scheduled for the event.  Parents and children interested in participating in the event can visit the Kankakee Public Library’s Youth Services Facebook page or lions-online.org for information on how to enter.
