For the first time Saturday, the Health Department announced a person had tested positive for COVID-19 over 100 years old in Kankakee. It’s just one of 37 new cases from ages children to over 100 announced to start the weekend.
There have now been 638 cases reported in the County to date with 32 deaths. No new deaths or recoveries were reported Saturday by County Health officials.
Since May 1st, the County has averaged 30 new cases daily. The new data comes as the Kankakee County Board begins reopening talks next week. County leadership has actively spoken out against Governor Prizker’s stay-at-home order since it was renewed on May 1st.
